Sir Hector C Cameron (1843-1928), surgeon. Born in 1843, son of Donald Cameron, sugar planter in Demerara, Cameron went to school at Madras College, St Andrews and then studied at the United College of St Andrews University, graduating in 1862. He went on to study medicine at Glasgow University and then worked as a surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary from 1868 until 1881 and then at the Western Infirmary.
